Grandson attacks his grandfather
68-year old man was confined at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital for medical treatment after he was hacked by his own grandson on June 20, 2017 at Sitio Riverside, Barangay Tayambayani, San Carlos City.
According to the investigation conducted, the victim Romulo Reyes was having a drinking session with his 28-year old grandson, Luvino Ulay y Zarate. In the middle of their spree, a heated argument erupted between the two. Reyes stabbed his grandson using a bolo with an approximate 15 inches long from tip to handle but Luvino Ulay dodged the attack, and was able to take another 16-inched bolo and hacked his grandfather twice on his head who then sustained wounds.
The suspect Luvino Ulay also sustained minor wounds and is now under the custody of San Carlos City Police. The weapons used in the hacking incident were turned over to the San Carlos police station by some concerned citizens. Appropriate charges to be filed against the suspect are now being readied.
