Sual LGU awards 7 units of hand tractors to farmer associations

Municipality of Sual Mayor Roberto “Bing” Arcinue, together with Municipal Agriculturist Mrs Florencia Guanzon, has awarded seven units of hand tractors to seven organized farmer groups on July 12, 2017 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Sual Municipal Bldg.

Since farming and fishing are the pioneering way of livelihood in the municipality, the agriculture office decided to screen these registered active associations and give seven units of hand tractors for their achievement for the past month.

According to Mrs Flocenfida Felipe, Municipal Agriculturist II, there are requirements to be follow in order to be a beneficiary on the projects of Department of Agriculture (DA) Sual. First, the organization must be registered to Security Exchange Commission (SEC). Second, they must have activities, projects, and weekly meeting and they must have set of officers.

Series of screening, interview, and validation are being made before the association becomes accredited by the Agriculture Office, Felipe added.

Arcinue also recognize the excellent contribution of the farmers in the community during the awarding and meeting of the farmers’ association officers.
