Drug surrenderers and parolees rendered their service in a road side tree planting project in San Jacinto, Pangasinan on July 14, 2017 for their monthly community service.
With the participation of Philippine National Police San Jacinto, the 700-meter road in Barangay Sta. Maria was filled with mahogany, acacia, and narra trees.
According to Chief Probation and Parole Officer Audie Mar Ubando, the tree planting activity is their way of rendering community service to the citizens.
The project is a big help to the barangay especially to the students for the trees will serve as their shade while passing by, said Madison Ellasos, the Barangay Chairman of Sta. Maria.
