In line with the celebration of the National Disaster Resilient Month, the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) of Dagupan City conducted a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Lecture for the grades five and six pupils at Mangin-Tebeng Elementary School (MTES) on July 17, 2017. The lecture was administered by Davidson S. Chua, Administrative officer and CDDRMO trainer.
Mrs Agape Nabua, MTES Principal, said in an interview that those activities are very useful not just for them but also for the pupils during unexpected calamities.
Chua’s lecture has encouraged elementary students to be more aware on the 72-hour emergency kit and the steps that they need to do when calamities hit their area.
Mrs Margie Juguillon, the School Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinator, extended her gratitude for the said lecture.
“This is a very good activity for the elementary students for in early age they are already informed what to do during flood and typhoon, earthquake, and tsunami,” said Barangay Kagawad Bonifacio Masaoi.
