Philippines to partner with China on sea oil search

The Philippines is considering an engagement with China on the exploration of sea oil in the disputed West Philippine Sea.
Philippine government had its conversation with China in line with the joint drilling for natural resources and energy explorations last June 24, 2017.
Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said that they will still be consulting their associates in the Association of South East Asian Nations regarding the proposed joint sea oil search between Philippines and China.
In a joint press conference in Manila on July 25, 2017, China expressed its openness for the proposed joint development through its Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
