It was a mishap first trip for a mini bus as a 10-wheeler truck dash over it in Umangan Elementary School, Mangatarem, Pangasinan last June 30, 2017 at 5:00 AM. The almost death experience of Robert Pagarigan Jr., 29-year old driver of the mini bus, happened when he was trying to pick up his first passenger on a waiting shed near the accident area, when suddenly a 10- wheeler truck bumped over the left side of the mini bus, causing it to ram into the concrete wall of the Elementary School.

It was an hour long before the rescue team rescued Pagarigan, who happen to stuck his right leg to the dashboard of the mini bus, that lead him to obtain minor cuts and sprains. Fortunately for Julius Aviles, conductor of the mini bus, he just obtained sprains. Both the driver and conductor were discharged off the hospital and out of danger. On an interview Pagarigan said, that he was on the right shoulder of the line and in full stop when he saw a truck approaching in a high speed.

However, Gilberto Carino, driver of 10-wheeler truck said that he was just travelling 50/kmh and tried to avoid the bus but there was not any chance to do it anymore. The truck came from Anda and was traveling south to Bulacan to pick up feeds.

Police Senior Inspector Rowel Albano said in an interview that, it was the truck driver’s fault. He also added that the driver should have excreted caution or pre-caution if ever the driver in front sudden stopped.
