Governor Pogi recognizes Cardona’s heroism

Pfc. Eddie C. Cardona, a 28-year old soldier from Barangay Goyoden, Santiago Island, Bolinao, Pangasinan, was awarded the Military Merit medal by President Rodrigo Duterte for showing bravery and heroism during the 16-hour firefight against the Maute terror group in Marawi City.

The family of Cardona was downhearted upon hearing Pfc. Cardona’s fall.

Governor Amado “Pogi” Espino III said on his speech: “There is no greater love than to offer one’s life for others and for his country.” The governor even emphasized that the fallen marine’s noble deeds will not be forgotten especially for the people of Pangasinan, who will remain grateful to Pfc. Cardona’s ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
