No fake rice in Pangasinan

Mrs. Lailene Guardiana, 39-year old rice dealer, said that there is no fake rice circulating Pangasinan as National Food Authority in Lingayen always do random inspection of rice.

A video with 8 million views about fake rice has circulated the social media causing fear to the public. Pangasinenses also worry if they are eating the said fake rice.

She asserted the public that this is just propaganda and people should not worry about the matter. Before the rice will be delivered to the market, they make sure that the rice is pure and unalloyed, said Guardiana.

Last June 23, 2017, National Food Authority revealed the result of the test and there is no such thing as ‘’fake rice’’.

The Grains Retailers Confederation of the Philippines has recommended that the government should build a Rice Watch Committee who will be in charge with the monitoring of the spread of the reported fake rice.
