OPVet conducts anti-rabies vaccination
Office of the Provincial Veterinarian conducted anti-rabies vaccination for dogs from different towns and cities around Pangasinan in partnership with the Bureau of Animal Industry.
The said project eyed 188, 192 dogs to be vaccinated but only 123, 132 dogs were served, only 65% of the total number. Total eradication of rates of rabies cases around the provinces is the main goal of the Provincial office.
According to the Provincial Veterinarian Eric Jose Perez, Lingayen and Binmaley are of positive rabies cases reported. He also added that massive anti-rabies vaccination by the Provincial Administration is in response to the “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007” or RA no. 9482, an act providing for the control and elimination of human and animal rabies.
