President Rodrigo Duterte, through Proclamation No. 235, has declared June 26 as a regular holiday to commemorate the Feast of Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr) in the country.

Eid al-Fitr was observed as a regular holiday through Republic Act 9177 passed in 2002. It is a religious celebration of Muslims marking the end of Ramadan.

The holiday declaration on June 26 was recommended by National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea last June 16, 2017.
