Philippine Urological Association conducts Tayo Na-Man Program
In line with the celebration of Father’s Day and Men’s Health Awareness Month, Philippine Urological Association conducted Tayo Na-Man program held at Dagupan Villaflor Hospital last June 17, 2017.
In an interview with Dr. Gene Torres, screening procedures and digital rectal examinations were conducted among men to identify and detect whether they are positive of benign prostatic hyperplasia, erectile dysfunction, kidney stones, urinary tract infection, and prostate cancer.
“We do digital rectal examination. The target organ is the prostate because it is the most common problem in men. Actually in your 50s or 60s, it becomes a problem,” Dr. Gene Torres added.
The screening procedures and digital rectal examinations were offered for free. “Almost 60 men attended the free consultation and only two were positive for prostate cancer,” confirmed Dr. Torres.
