(POSO enforcer David Bravo advises TODAs and PODAs to comply with the requirements needed to operate in Lingayen town)

Through the continuous compliance to Municipal Ordinance No. 25 or the Lingayen Tricycle and Pedicab Ordinance of 2014, four tricycles were taken for impound at the Capitol Grounds of Lingayen, Pangasinan by the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) enforcers on June 29, 2017. Drivers of the confiscated tricycles lack some of the basic requirements needed to operate in the whole town.

In an interview with POSO Lingayen enforcer David Bravo, the most violated provisions included in the Section IV of Municipal Ordinance No. 25 are: General Provision No. 1 stating that all tricycles and pedicabs must be registered with the Municipal Government of Lingayen, Pangasinan in order to be issued a permanent control number; General Provision No. 4 stating that all tricycles and pedicabs must secure a Mayor’s Permit every year; and General Provision No. 7 stating that all tricycle drivers must have a driver’s license issued by the Land Transportation Office.

Penalties range from P500 to P2,500 with impoundment depending on the degree and number of offenses made.
