Alvin Concepcion Reyes, a Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) table tennis player, won against his opponent, Peter Tomas of Junior Marketing Association (JMA), on their first game on August 1, 2017 at PHINMA- University of Pangasinan gymnasium.

The first set scoring was 11-4 while the second set ended up with 11-6, in favor of Concepcion. In an interview, he admitted that he stopped playing table tennis three years ago just to concentrate on his studies. “I do not even know that my name was included in the list of players. I have just noticed when our class mayor approached me and handed me a paddle while I am watching the volleyball game that time. At first I refused but when I have realized that I really missed playing, I stood up and left my chair immediately and faced my opponent,” said Concepcion.

After the game, he concedes that he was so surprised with his performance. He played with no practice and no training. He even made fun of his service errors. “For me, just give your heart in whatever you do and always make your passion as your profession. If you are tired playing, just take a rest but don’t stop. Quitting is not the answer in every body pain that you gain. When you quit and stop, you will never gain back what you have lost,” he ended.
