Ms Everywhere as the second best libero in Asian Women’s Volleyball meet

Small but definitely terrible, that is what the 5-foot tall defense specialist of the Philippines, Dawn Macandili, proved after she was named as the second best libero in the 19th AVC Asian Senior Women’s Championship on August 17, 2017 in Alonte Sports Arena.

Macandili showed beyond doubt that inspite of being the smallest player in the tournament, you can stand tall against your opponent as long as you give everything you have.

In an interview with a newspaper she stated: “Nakaka-amaze kasi 'yung parang training ka lang nang training, tapos gusto ko lang naman makatulong ka sa team, para hindi bumagsak ang bola, Tapos may nakaka-recognize pala ng ganoon, parang nagpe-payoff pala siya.”

All the bruises, scratches, and ‘buwis buhay’ dig were indeed paid off with this recognition.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Kobata Mako reaped the spot for the first libero.
