Dagupan City COMELEC is hundred percent ready for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on October 23 even if the bill, postponing the village and youth council elections, has already passed the congress and the senate.
According to Dagupan City Election Officer Ericson Organiza, they were aware that the bill to postpone the elections for the second time was already at the table of President Rodrigo Duterte. Since it is not yet sign by the President, the preparation for October 23 Barangay and SK elections are still ongoing.
Organiza also added that when President Duterte sign the bill, the Commission on Elections will surely comply on it.
Last Wednesday, COMELEC said that they already printed a total 27,950,855 out of 59,548,410 ballots needed to be printed. In case the elections will be postponed, they can pass a resolution that the ballots printed will be used in the next elections.
